Records can be sealed through the municipal, county and district courts in Colorado. There are two paths to a clean record. First, the courts will begin automatically sealing records next year. For information on automatic sealing click here:

If you don't want to wait for automatic record-sealing or are ineligible (as many of us are), there is also a multi-step process for petitioning the court to get a record sealed. There is a cost (unless waived) each time you petition the court to seal a record. There is also a wait time between when a sentence has been completed and when a record can be sealed. Typically, a record can be sealed 1-10 years after a sentence is completed. Please see the "Conditions/Requirements" page to determine your eligibility to petition the court to get a record sealed.
