We will be adding counties as time permits. If you have a case in a county not listed here, the first thing you may want to do is reach out to the county and determine what their record request process is. Some counties have specific records departments that handle these requests. In addition, some counties have specific forms for requesting records. A good place to start researching the record request process is the clerk of the court in the county that your case is in. They can usually point you in the right direction. It's possible that you'll be working with a smaller county and the clerk of the court might be able to fulfill your record request.
If you have a case in a county not listed here, the second thing you may want to do is research how to file your documentation. Again, it probably makes sense to contact the clerk of the court in the county where your case is. It is possible that you may be able to mail your documentation to the clerk of the court with your filing fee(s). Alternatively, you can probably hand deliver the information. You'll just want to make sure know what the hours of the clerk of the court are. You'll also want to determine how to provide copies of the documentation to the prosecuting attorney. The clerk may be able to help with this information as well.
Self-help resources are different across different counties. Again, the clerk of the court in the county of your case may be able to point you to county-specific self-help resources. It's important to let the clerk know that you are interested in sealing a record. Many self-help resources in the counties won't handle criminal matters but may be able to help with completing the documentation to get a record sealed.
